Step Up: Ltd is a brand new, fully-funded business support programme commissioned by Eastbourne Borough Council as part of its Build & Thrive series.
Designed exclusively for sole traders within the Eastbourne Borough, the programme helps business owners understand the differences between operating as a Sole Trader or a Limited Company, to enable you to make informed decisions about what’s right for your business.

The programme combines expert-led learning with personalised support and includes:
- A choice of a practical morning workshop or early-evening webinar
- Up to 90 minutes of personalised one-to-one mentoring with award-winning accountant and tax specialist Chris Barnard
- Practical, jargon-free guidance tailored to your own business
- Completely free access for eligible Eastbourne Borough businesses.
Whether you’re considering becoming a Limited Company, planning for future growth, or simply want a clearer understanding of your business structure options, Step Up: Ltd will provide the expert guidance you need to make informed decisions about your future.
This is not about ‘persuading’ you to become a Limited Company. It’s about giving you the knowledge and confidence to understand your options, so you can decide what’s right for your business.

Taking place this autumn, the workshop and webinar dates are:
- Tuesday 06 October 2026, 08:30 – 12:00
- Thursday 22 October 2026, 16:30 – 19:00

- Sole traders whose principle trading address is within the Eastbourne Borough
- Eastbourne businesses considering incorporation or planning for growth
- Early-stage and established Eastbourne businesses wanting to better understand their options.
Please note, this programme is only open to businesses who are located and trading within the Eastbourne Borough Council district.
